Blanco is a true Canadian having lived in Toronto, Vancouver, & now residing in Montreal. Growing up, he usually has had a band or a group of friends to make music with. His passions are rhyming verse & building songs in the studio. Early influences were the Beatles in their psychedelic days and the poetics of Bob Dylan. Other influences include Daniel Lanois, Ry Cooder, The Mescaleros, Marc Ribot, early REM, Tom Waits, and fellow Montrealais Leonard Cohen. On colder days, he likes to venture to Cuba and be effected by the music, the Cuban persons and their history, and the serene surf & land.

Look for future projects with fellow 9'th Brothers producer and former next door neighbour Sami Ghawi, with whom he has special, yet sometimes strange rapport with (on a number of occasions these old boys came near to killing each other living so close by). They are currently working to finish their first full album together entitled Blanco Y Santiago set for release in Fall 2008.
